Echoes #14
Echoes of Forgiveness
Some moments only make sense in hindsight.
Joseph once stood betrayed and powerless, sold away by his own brothers. Years later, he stood face to face with them again—not to accuse, but to embrace. What had once looked like loss was now seen through a wider lens of meaning.
In that moment, Joseph spoke words shaped by time and reflection: “You planned evil against me; God planned it for good” (Genesis 50:20). He did not pretend the hurt never happened. He simply recognized that the story had not ended where the pain began.
Forgiveness often comes with clarity, not certainty. It does not erase what was done, but it changes how the future is held. Some truths are only visible after the waiting, the loss, and the mercy that follows.
This reflection explores how God can bring good out of what was meant for harm, and how understanding sometimes arrives only after the long road has been walked.
This is an echo of forgiveness.
