Echoes #2
Echoes of Faith
Abraham’s faith pointed ahead to something greater. He trusted that God would provide a lamb, and He did. But the ram in the thicket was only a glimpse of what was coming.
Years later, on another hill, God the Father gave His own Son, Jesus, as the true Lamb. Why? Because we have all sinned and our sin separates us from God. But Jesus died in our place, taking the punishment we deserved.
When we trust in Him, we are forgiven and made right with God forever. That’s why Abraham named the place “The Lord Will Provide,” as it is said to this day, “On the Lord’s mountain, it will be provided” (Genesis 22:14). Abraham’s story was just the beginning. The cross is the fulfillment. Every step of trust in God is guided with echoes of faith.
