Leadership Echo: Prodigal 8 - Brosephus: The Feast Confusion

Brosephus came home expecting another ordinary day. The work done, fields quiet, evening still.

Instead, he found a party. Music, laughter, celebration.
For his brother: a prodigal named Sonny.
The same brother who wasted everything their father built.

Fairness demanded an explanation. But grace had already started celebrating.

Leaders often stand at that same threshold, caught between justice and joy. We work hard, we value discipline, and then grace enters the room unannounced. It feels out of balance, even unfair. But in that imbalance, God is revealing His heart.

“He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our iniquities.” Psalm 103:10

The Father’s kind of leadership doesn’t reward performance; it restores people. Jesus died and rose again to model that very truth—to invite us into grace that transforms, not merit that measures.

True leaders celebrate redemption, not comparison. They know that the greatest victories often look like undeserved mercy.

Take time to reflect this week: When has grace disrupted your sense of fairness and reminded you that leadership begins with the cross?
